The Coding Collaborative was based in San Antonio, Texas, but is now open virtually to any student in the United States since the onset of the pandemic.
The Collaborative is part of the movement that believes all kids need the opportunity to learn programming languages, cyber security, and electronics in the modern world.
In 2016, (after spending 2015 as parents in a Coder Dojo), Nikole Vaughn and Malene Lawrence founded the Coding Collaborative to establish a place in San Antonio for their kids and others to code. The San Antonio Library housed the dojo for one term until it grew too large. San Antonio College was the first location to offer a permanent home with multiple computer labs to the Coding Collaborative free of charge...and now we're virtual!
